Inc. 1143 Thuróczi János: Chronica Hungarorum 1488, Theobald Feger, Erhard Ratdolt. Augsburg, Pergamen. János Thuróczi (+ c. 1488/89) wrote his history of Hungary in 1487. The work was printed in 1488 in Brünn and again in the same year in Augsburg. The publisher of the Augsburg edition dedicated the work to Matthias and used gold paint for the dedication of this luxury copy printed on parchment. It was embellished with over 1,000 jewels, 5,000 leather onlays and 100 square feet of gold leaf. It took a team of craftsmen over two and a half years to make.
