「Moshi Moshi Kawaii Harajuku」
Back in 70’s, creators gathered at the Central Apartment. In 80’s, there were Takenoko-zoku (street dancers) and Hokoten bands (street bands), and in 90’s, there was the Ura-Harajuku movement. In Harajuku, new cultures have always been born. And now, Yasumasa Yonehara, whose popularity in Chine is particularly well known among other overseas countries, popped up the globally famous Japanese Kawaii culture using today’s Harajuku as a new motif. He became an engineer to produce and opened the souvenir shop, “Moshi Moshi Kawaii Harajuku” for the international tourists visiting Takeshita Street. The shop is also tied in with the AOMOJI-Kei models’ event, “HARAJUKU KAWAII!!” so the shop is filled with KAWAII and will send out he “KAWAII” messages. The phrase “KAWAII” has been commonly used in Japan but is also becoming universal these days. The characters was designed by Shashamin, who's deeply engaged with Harajuku culture and expecting Harajuku Kawaii culture will reach out globally.
