Andrea Ponti is a Japan based Italian designer born in Cagliari (Italy) in 1985.
Bachelor Degree in Industrial Design (2006, Politecnico di Milano), attended one year as exchange student in Kyushu University (Fukuoka, Japan). Joint several workshops and internships with major Japanese companies including Honda Motors, Toyota, Daihatsu and Mitsubishi Electric. Master Degree in Product Design (2008, Politecnico di Milano) with a design research on Japanese trains Shinkansen. A project developed in collaboration with JR Group (Japan Railways Group) Paolo Schianchi and Giuseppe Chigiotti's Architecture Studio.
Product Design Researcher in 2009 at Kyushu University (Fukuoka, Japan). At the end of this year moved to Osaka working for HERS Experimental Design Laboratory and Metaphys Brand. Since July 2010, has been collaborating with Space Magic Mon Design Studio (Kyoto, Japan) as product designer and consultant.
From 2011 become Art Director and Chief Designer for the Hong Kong based company Pineway Asia Ltd., sole distributor for the U.S. company Case Logic ® in Asia Pacific. His products are published by majors design magazines and websites.
